The pain is mainly due to the following diseases: 1. Inflammatory infections, such as acute otitis externa, acute tympanitis, acute secretory otitis media, herpetic tympanitis, and acute purulent otitis media in which the eardrum is not perforated. 2. Diseases that are neurological in nature, such as neuralgia induced by herpes zoster, or neuralgia caused by the patient staying up all night and getting angry. It can be neuralgia caused by herpes zoster or neuralgia caused by staying up all night with a fire, and no abnormal changes can be seen during clinical examination. Pain induced by middle ear cancer, external ear canal cancer, etc. is generally uncommon in clinical practice.
