Before applying eye ointment: always wash your hands first and be sure to read the name of the medicine; if there is discharge from the eyes, you need to dip a clean cotton swab into the discharge before applying the eye ointment. It is recommended to lie down or sit down (tilt your head back and try to keep your eyes in a horizontal position to facilitate the application of medication). When applying eye ointment: Do not touch the eyelids, eyeballs and hands with the bottle of eye ointment; pull down the lower eyelid with one hand and squeeze the eye ointment into the space between the lower eyelid and the eyeball (if the eye ointment is not newly opened, squeeze out a little before use and discard it, the eye ointment applied is about 5mm long, not too much), then gently pull up the upper eyelid and slowly lower it, while releasing the lower eyelid (i.e. let the upper and lower eyelids wrap around the (i.e., let the upper and lower eyelids wrap around the eye ointment) so that it covers the surface of the eye ointment. After applying the eye ointment: tighten the cap after use; gently rotate the eye after the patient closes the eye, so that the eye ointment is evenly coated on the surface of the eye; close the eye for at least 10 minutes.
