Food stuck in the esophagus usually requires gastroscopy for removal of the foreign body. Food is usually stuck in the second esophageal stricture, which is about 25 cm from the incisors, and this is the place where food often gets stuck. So usually doctors use gastroscopy to enter the esophagus and then remove the food through foreign body forceps or other tools, so that it is safe.
