How long to remove stitches for wisdom tooth extraction

Stitches after wisdom tooth removal are recommended to be removed in about 7-10 days. Normal extraction of wisdom teeth does not require stitches, so there is no need to remove the sutures. If the location of the wisdom tooth is relatively low, it is more difficult to remove or the gums are damaged and bleed more during the extraction, or the surrounding alveolar bone needs to be removed due to the low location, or the crown splitting is performed and additional incisions need to be made, then sutures are needed. After suturing, the incision usually heals at about 7 o’clock. Therefore, the doctor advises the patient to remove the sutures from the extraction incision in about 7 days. However, there are some patients who grow more slowly and have more difficulty in healing, so the suture removal time should be extended, and the vast majority of patients can heal in about 10 days.
