How soon can you get pregnant after a curettage

Curettage is a common procedure performed in obstetrics and gynecology clinics. Scraping not only diagnoses gynecological diseases, but also serves as a hemostatic treatment. The scraping procedure actually scrapes the endometrial tissue from the uterus and sends the endometrial tissue for pathology to exclude endometrial lesions. The endometrium undergoes cyclic proliferation and shedding in response to hormonal changes in the body, so after scraping the endometrial tissue during the procedure, it is necessary to wait for the endometrium to repair before considering another pregnancy. At the beginning of a menstrual cycle, the level of estrogen in the body gradually rises. Under the action of estrogen the endometrium proliferates again, thus completing the process of endometrial repair. Therefore, it is recommended to wait for one menstrual cycle after the curettage before considering pregnancy. However, it is important to note that the prerequisite for another pregnancy is that the pathology after curettage confirms the absence of possible endometrial lesions. If the pathology after curettage suggests endometrial pathology, the next step of treatment needs to be developed based on the pathology results. Pregnancy is not recommended before treatment, and if necessary, surgical and pharmacological treatment needs to be given before pregnancy can occur. Therefore, in the absence of abnormalities, pregnancy is an option after the resumption of the menstrual cycle following curettage.
