What’s wrong with yellowish-green leucorrhea?

Yellowish green leukorrhea is commonly associated with trichomoniasis. Trichomoniasis is an inflammation of the vagina caused by Trichomonas vaginalis infection. Its discharge is characterized by yellowish-green, thin, foamy leucorrhea with a fishy odor or bad taste, and itching and burning pain in the vulva. If a patient has any of these conditions, he or she needs to visit a hospital for a routine white belt test to clearly diagnose exactly what the nature of the vaginal inflammation is. If Trichomonas is found in the discharge, the diagnosis of trichomoniasis can be confirmed. The main treatment for trichomoniasis is the application of metronidazole, which can be taken orally in the form of metronidazole vitamin B6 tablets and metronidazole tablets, and requires simultaneous treatment of sexual partners. In addition, women are given topical metronidazole suppositories vaginally, and sexual intercourse is prohibited during the medication.
