Esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets should be mixed with warm water and swallowed whole, not chewed, and are recommended to be taken 1 hour before meals. For patients with dysphagia, dissolve tablets in ½ cup of carbonate-free water, stir until tablets are completely dissolved, take immediately or within 30 minutes, and add another ½ cup of water to rinse the glass before drinking. Adverse reactions such as headache, diarrhea, nausea, flatulence, and abdominal pain may occur after use of the drug and are usually relieved by discontinuation of the drug. Pregnant women patients should use the drug with caution. Children, lactating women, and those who are allergic to esomeprazole are prohibited from using this drug. Esomeprazole should not be combined with nelfinavir or rifampicin. The specific dosage and usage of the above medicines should follow the doctor’s instructions and should not be used on its own to avoid adverse reactions.
