What is minimally invasive thyroid surgery?

Currently, in addition to the conventional surgical approach, lumpectomy has been added to thyroidectomy. However, if the incision is chosen in the areola or under the axilla, no incision is seen in the neck, but the subcutaneous tunnel through which the lumpectomy is performed is very traumatic for the individual. It is not minimally invasive. So people also designed the so-called lumpectomy-assisted small incision thyroidectomy. That is, a 2-3 cm transverse incision is made 1 cm above the sternal stalk to complete the surgery with lumpectomy guidance. After comparing dozens of surgeries, I found that it is possible to complete the small incision surgery without lumpectomy, the key is to use a good ultrasonic knife. This saves the patient about 1000 RMB in lumpectomy fees and shortens the operation time by reducing some exposure links, which is at least 1/3-1/2 shorter than before and greatly reduces the patient’s pain. Recently, an 80-year-old man had bilateral thyroid swellings removed in only 20 minutes.
