Post-operative rehabilitation of shoulder BANKART injury (arthroscopic or open) Phase I (0-3 weeks for open repair, 0-4 weeks for arthroscopic repair) A. Wear a shoulder sling from the operating room, and remove it for dressing and hygiene. Duration of wearing shoulder sling: 3 weeks for open repair, 4 weeks for arthroscopic repair; when you can tolerate pain, you can remove the shoulder sling for desktop exercises (eating, brushing teeth, writing, occasionally using keyboard): you can remove the sling for exercise, bathing and dressing. External rotation should not exceed 200; at 12 weeks after surgery, it is possible to achieve a complete external rotation. The progress should be pain tolerant. 2. Anti-gravity internal/external rotation should not be started until 5 weeks after surgery. 3. Home exercises: if needed, overhead pulleys and stick exercises can be used.
