There are many causes of dorsal foot swelling, and the methods to eliminate swelling vary depending on the cause. If cardiac insufficiency causes swelling of the dorsum of the foot, diuretics, cardiac drugs, and vasodilators can be used to eliminate swelling. If the swelling is caused by liver disease such as cirrhosis, liver preservation, albumin infusion and ascites pumping should be performed to reduce dorsal foot swelling. If the swelling is caused by nephrotic syndrome, glucocorticoids and diuretics can be used to reduce swelling, and if necessary, hemodialysis can be performed.
