How to treat sclerosing hemangioma of the lungs

Pulmonary sclerosing hemangiomas appear as relatively smooth solid nodules on chest CT and can be treated in different ways depending on where the sclerosing hemangioma is located. If the sclerosing hemangioma is located at the edge of a lung lobe, a wedge resection of the lobe may be performed. If it is located in one of the lung segments, a resection of the segment may also be performed. If it is near the center of a lung lobe, a lobectomy is needed. Pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma is a benign disease, and after thoracoscopic segmental resection, wedge resection, or lobectomy, the disease is essentially cured without sequelae.
