Belching with a smell of rotten eggs may be some kind of physiological phenomenon, or it may be a symptomatic manifestation of certain diseases, such as dental calculus and other oral diseases, or it may also be caused by gastrointestinal diseases such as reflux esophagitis and chronic gastritis, which should be consulted in time to find out the cause of the disease.
1. Physiological factors: If you eat gas-producing food or smoke, drink alcohol and often eat onions, garlic, leeks and other stimulating foods, it can lead to an increase in gas in the stomach, resulting in belching, accompanied by a special odor.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) dental calculus: long-term inattention to oral hygiene, the bacteria in the mouth and food decomposition produces dental plaque, thus dental calculus occurs, patients often have bleeding gums, chewing weakness, oral odor and other symptoms. When the patient with dental calculus after eating a lot of carbonated drinks, gas-producing food, causing belching, can also be accompanied by a rotten egg flavor of the situation.
(2) Reflux esophagitis: its typical symptoms are reflux and heartburn. Reflux refers to the sensation of the contents of the stomach and duodenum surging into the pharynx or mouth without nausea and exertion, and can sometimes contain an acidic taste, and therefore belching with a peculiar odor may also occur after a full meal.
(3) Chronic gastritis: this is a chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa caused by different etiologic factors, which is mainly manifested by epigastric fullness, belching, acid reflux, etc. The symptoms can be induced or aggravated when eating cold, hard, spicy and irritating foods.
This symptom alone is not enough to diagnose the disease, and should be promptly consulted and treated by a doctor for the cause.
