Can I fly after having my wisdom teeth removed?

It is true that flying is not recommended after a wisdom tooth extraction. This may sound a little exaggerated, but there are few clinical risks that arise from this. This is mainly due to the pressure problem. Although an airplane is a closed and pressurized environment with constant temperature, the pressure on the human body is relatively less at high altitude than on the ground. This change in pressure may cause the expansion of blood clots within the extraction wound and bleeding from the extraction may occur. Although the possibility of such a risk is not particularly high, there is no condition for the patient or the crew to perform better and more professional hemostasis operations on the plane, and the plane is not a transportation vehicle that can stop at any time and find a place to deal with bleeding at any time, so there is indeed a certain risk for wisdom tooth extraction by airplane. We generally recommend that you take a flight at least 24 hours after wisdom teeth extraction, preferably 3 days later, to be relatively safe.
