Can I use baking soda to wash my bottom when I’m pregnant?

It is not recommended to use baking soda to cleanse the vulva, either during pregnancy or during normal times, and it is absolutely forbidden to douche the vagina with baking soda. The only thing you need to do is to wash your vulva with water, wear cotton underwear as much as possible, and change your underwear daily. Since the resistance to vaginal infections is lower after pregnancy, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible to have your leukorrhea checked to see if there is any vaginal inflammation. If there is, you need to choose the appropriate medication according to the results of the routine leucorrhoea examination. If you have symptoms of vulvar itching, you can treat it with various lotions, which are available during pregnancy. If there are no symptoms of vulvovaginal itching, only vaginal medication is needed to treat it. All forms of vaginal douches and vaginal irrigation are prohibited.
