Is low sperm motility a terminal disease?

Low sperm motility, also known as weak spermatozoa, is not a terminal condition. Weak spermatozoa is defined as less than 32% of forward-moving sperm in semen parameters. Usually, patients with weak spermatozoa do not have any other conscious symptoms other than low chances of pregnancy, so weak spermatozoa is not a terminal disease. Weak spermatozoa may be caused with congenital factors, endocrine abnormalities, infectious diseases, etc. In addition, bad lifestyle habits, such as smoking and drinking alcohol, and vitamin deficiencies may also increase the risk of developing the disease. Some patients with weak spermatozoa can be cured after active examination and treatment. If the condition is more serious, it may be difficult to return to normal completely, but conception can be accomplished through scientific fertility intervention. It is recommended that patients develop good living habits, take appropriate physical exercise, ensure adequate intake of micronutrients and get enough sleep, etc. Meanwhile, patients should also do a good job of monitoring their condition and undergo regular checkups.
