Effects and contraindications of levamlodipine benzoate

Levamlodipine besylate is a calcium antagonist. It is levosomal compared to amlodipine besylate. Amlodipine besylate, both levosomal and dextro, is generally considered to have a hypotensive effect, while the side effects are mainly dextro. The indications for amlodipine besylate are mainly hypertension and angina pectoris, the dosage is usually one tablet once a day, or two tablets a day if the blood pressure is not well controlled. Adverse effects include headache, edema, fatigue, insomnia, panic, dizziness, similar to other calcium antagonists. Contraindications are that people who are allergic to dihydropyridine calcium antagonists should not be used, other precautions are that this drug should be used with caution if liver function is severely impaired, while pregnant and lactating women should not be used in principle, and elderly people can start with small doses as appropriate to avoid the occurrence of postural hypotension.
