What to do if you have an itchy ant bite

Itchy ant bites can be relieved by general treatment or medication (e.g., applying hydrocortisone cream).
1. General treatment: After being bitten by ants, clean the wound with hand sanitizer or soap. Soap solution has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that can prevent the ants’ venom from further damaging the skin. When the symptoms are mild, you can first rinse with tap water, and at the same time, you can use ice packs, do not scratch the bitten parts to avoid wound infection.
2. Medication: patients can apply hydrocortisone cream under the guidance of the doctor to relieve itching, and if local scratching leads to bacterial infection, antibiotic ointment such as mupirocin ointment can also be applied to treat skin infections.
If you are bitten by ants and it is very itchy, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to identify the cause of the disease and then targeted treatment. The medication should be used in accordance with medical advice.
