Cholecystitis can be referred to the treatment of Chinese medicine diseases such as “dystocia (pain in the area of coercion and ribs)” and “jaundice”, and the prescription should be chosen according to the patient’s symptoms, such as Da Chai Hu Tang. Cholecystitis is mostly caused by emotional depression, dietary disorders, overeating of greasy food, or disturbances of roundworms, resulting in depression of liver and gallbladder qi, and accumulation of dampness and heat (damp and heat evils are agglomerated in the body). Symptoms include hidden pain in the epigastric region, distension, tugging on the shoulders and back, nausea and vomiting, even bitter mouth and dry throat, constipation and urinary redness, yellowish color of the face and eyes, or a mass in the right epigastric region, which refuses to be pressed and is painful to the touch. Chinese medicine treatment is based on regulating qi and activating blood circulation, clearing heat and drying dampness (removing heat and drying dampness), and passing through and attacking the lower part of the body. It can be customized with Da Shen Chest Tang, Da Chai Hu Tang, Yin Chen Artemisia Tang.
