Can Trigger Finger Heal Itself

It is also known as trigger finger, the pathological name of which is finger flexor tendon tenosynovitis, which occurs in the thumb is called thumb flexor tendon tenosynovitis, also known as popping thumb. The disease can occur at different ages, mostly in women and manual laborers, and can occur in any finger, but mostly in the thumb. The disease does not usually heal on its own, but early or mild cases can be treated with non-surgical therapy, including reducing hand activity, especially finger flexion and extension. Physiotherapy and intra-tendon sheath injections of steroid drugs are performed, usually only 1 or 2 injections, not multiple injections, which may cause extensive adhesions. In early cases, 1 injection can cure the disease, and if it fails to cure, 1 injection should be given after a week. If non-surgical treatment is ineffective, or if the tendon sheath has been narrowed by repeated attacks, surgical treatment can be used, and generally better treatment results can be achieved.
