How sleep apnea syndrome is treated

Sleep apnea syndrome can be treated by general treatment, such as weight control, smoking and alcohol cessation, etc. It can also be treated for the cause of the disease, or non-invasive positive airway pressure ventilation.
1. General treatment: there are many factors that cause sleep apnea syndrome, including obesity, age, genetics, etc. General treatment can be taken first, such as controlling diet, maintaining body weight, changing sleep position, sleeping on the side, elevating the head of the bed, and quitting smoking and alcohol.
2. Treatment for the cause of the disease: If it is obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome (OSAHS for short), correct the underlying diseases that cause or aggravate OSAHS, such as applying thyroxine to treat hypothyroidism.
3. Non-invasive positive airway pressure ventilation: including continuous positive airway pressure ventilation and bi-level positive airway pressure ventilation, but pay attention to the possibility of local compression, conjunctivitis and other adverse reactions, with pulmonary blisters, hemoptysis, pneumothorax and blood pressure instability is prohibited.
When sleep apnea syndrome occurs, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and choose the appropriate treatment method under the guidance of a professional doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
