What causes a child’s heart to beat fast?

Children’s heart beating fast, may be physiological reasons, such as emotional excitement caused. It may also be pathologic, such as myocarditis, rheumatic fever, hyperthyroidism, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause of the disease.
1. Physiological reasons: if the child is emotional, crying, exercise, etc., may lead to compensatory heartbeat acceleration, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Myocarditis: Myocarditis is an inflammatory disease of the heart muscle. The causes of myocarditis include viral infection and so on. Patients with myocarditis may have arrhythmia, such as sinus tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, so a child’s heart beating fast may be caused by myocarditis.
(2) Rheumatic fever: Rheumatic fever is an autoimmune disease caused by infection with group A group B hemolytic streptococcus in the upper respiratory tract. Rheumatic fever may lead to systemic connective tissue lesions, mainly involving joints, heart, etc., so a child’s rapid heartbeat may be caused by rheumatic fever.
(3) Hyperthyroidism: This is a thyrotoxicosis caused by the thyroid gland itself producing too much thyroid hormone. Causes of hyperthyroidism include thyroiditis and heredity. Patients with hyperthyroidism will have a significantly faster basal metabolic rate in the body, so a child’s fast heartbeat may be caused by hyperthyroidism.
If you are experiencing symptoms, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying your condition.
