What tests are done for tuberculosis screening

Tuberculosis examination includes tuberculin test examination, sputum culture and sputum smear examination of sputum, lung imaging, routine blood tests, and C-reactive protein and blood sedimentation, etc. These tests can determine the diagnosis of active tuberculosis. In case of positive sputum examination, such as positive sputum culture for Mycobacterium tuberculosis, or positive sputum smear for Mycobacterium antacidum, combined with imaging examination, there are patchy shadows with indistinct margins, or there can be central lysis or cavitation with disseminated lesions. Active tuberculosis can be diagnosed when the chest radiograph shows calcification, sclerosis or fibrosis, and active tuberculosis requires standardized anti-tuberculosis treatment.
