The Lung Meridian, which is the Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian, has the effect of relieving cough and asthma (stopping coughing and calming wheezing), clearing channels and relieving pain (clearing meridians and relieving pain), and can be used for treating diseases of the lungs and the lung system, and pains in the areas of the Lung Meridian circulation. The Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian, which is superficial to the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, originates within the lungs and descends to the index finger. The meridian is distributed in front of the chest, in front of the inner side of the upper limbs, and in the thumb. Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian has the effect of relieving cough, calming asthma, clearing collaterals and relieving pain, and can be used to treat lung diseases, such as cough, phlegm, asthma, and chest tightness; it can also be used to alleviate pain in the areas of the lung meridian, such as chest pain, pain in the medial front of the upper limbs, and pain in the big fisheye (the thumb area), and so on.
