When the uterine adnexa is examined, the report card of the regular hospital will usually indicate whether the orientation of the uterus is anterior, posterior or horizontal, whereas most of the general medical check-up organizations will not look at the orientation of the uterus. If the report does not indicate the orientation of the uterus, you will need that one picture of the longitudinal uterine incision to determine the orientation of the uterus. When the angle between the body of the uterus and the cervix is less than 180 degrees, the uterus will be close to the bladder, which is an anterior uterus. When the angle between the body of the uterus and the cervix is greater than 180 degrees, the uterus moves away from the bladder, which is a posterior uterus. When the angle between the uterine body and cervix is equal to 180 degrees, the uterus is horizontal. Generally speaking, anterior uterus has more chances of conception and posterior uterus has less chances of conception.
