Iodixanol is a new type of clinical contrast agent, often widely used in a range of examinations for enhanced CT and angiography. iodixanol its greatest side effect, there is the possibility of allergic reactions. Clinical allergic reactions are commonly seen in patients with facial flushing and urticaria within 10 minutes of iodixanol application, and in severe cases, shortness of breath, dyspnea, or even life-threatening anaphylaxis. Other side effects include impairment of renal function, impairment of liver function, and in patients with abnormal hyperthyroidism there is a certain effect on thyroid function. Therefore, it is important to consider the patient’s condition and choose a reasonable contrast agent for treatment to circumvent these undesirable side effects, especially for patients with renal impairment and thyroid gland lesions, and also to avoid angiography-enhanced CT.
