Poria has the effects of inducing diuresis, subduing swelling, seeping dampness, strengthening the spleen and tranquilizing the heart; Angelica dahurica has the effects of relieving cold (removing cold from the muscle surface), dispelling wind and relieving pain.
Poria: treating edema, phlegm (pathological products formed by impaired metabolism of water and fluid), diarrhea in spleen deficiency, palpitation, insomnia. Caution should be exercised in cases of Yin deficiency without dampness-heat, deficiency of cold and essence-slip, and Qi deficiency and subsidence.
Angelica dahurica: It is effective in relieving exterior cold, dispelling wind and relieving pain, clearing nasal passage, drying dampness and stopping leucorrhea (dispelling dampness by drying dampness and improving leucorrhea abnormality). The main treatment of wind-cold cold, headache, toothache, paralysis pain and other pain, nasal abyss (mainly manifested as nasal mucus obscene, the amount of wipe not clean), skin rheumatism itching. It is contraindicated in cases of Yin deficiency and blood heat.
