Is positive TB serious?

Positive TB refers to sputum-positive TB. Such patients are still more serious because they are highly contagious and can transmit TB to other people, so it is recommended to be hospitalized for isolation and timely anti-TB treatment. Most patients become significantly less contagious after two weeks of anti-tuberculosis treatment, and they are basically not contagious after about two months of anti-tuberculosis treatment. Some patients with sputum-positive tuberculosis also have symptoms such as hemoptysis, especially hemoptysis, which is still very risky because there is a risk of life-threatening hemoptysis leading to hemorrhagic shock or blockage of the airway by blood clots, and such patients need to be hospitalized in a timely manner.
