Chicken blood vine is the dried vine stem of the legume plant Mifanzu. It is bitter, sweet and warm in nature. It belongs to the liver and kidney meridian. It has the function of activating blood and tonifying blood, regulating menstruation and relieving pain (regulating menstruation and relieving menstrual pain), and relaxing tendons and activating collaterals (stretching the tendons and bones and dredging the meridians and collaterals). It is used for irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, menstrual closure, rheumatic paralysis, numbness and paralysis, blood deficiency and atrophy.
Chicken Blood Vine is used with Angelica sinensis, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong and Radix Aromatica Sinensis to treat menstrual irregularity, dysmenorrhea and amenorrhea due to blood stasis; and with Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparatae and Radix Paeoniae Alba to treat menstrual irregularity, dysmenorrhea and amenorrhea due to blood deficiency.
