Heavy shadows in the eyes are not necessarily myopia. If the double vision persists after covering one eye, it may be due to astigmatism. However, since people with astigmatism tend to have varying degrees of myopia or hyperopia, the patient may also have myopia. However, double vision in the eyes caused by myopia is usually seen in the distance but not in the near. Other cataracts and overuse of the eyes may also present with ocular double vision and should be distinguished.
