Nine out of ten people have lung nodules?

There is no scientific basis for the claim that nine out of ten people have lung nodules. Normal lung tissue does not have nodules, and the formation of lung nodules is related to many factors.
Lung nodules are round or irregular shaped foci less than or equal to 3cm in diameter in the lungs, which may show increased density on imaging, and are single or multiple, with clear or unclear borders.
The causes of lung nodules are complex, which may be caused by acute infections such as tuberculosis or fungi or left over from chronic infections, or granulomatous changes formed by occupational factors such as long-term exposure to dust, or early stage lung cancer and so on.
Therefore, there is no such thing as nine out of ten people having lung nodules. It is recommended that people with lung nodules should consult a doctor in a timely manner to find out the cause of the disease and give standardized and individualized diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
