EBV infection is the main cause of nasopharyngeal cancer, EBV positive antibody means previous infection or ongoing infection, for EBV antibody, it should be further categorized into IgM antibody and IgG antibody, IgM antibody positive generally means acute infection, IgG positive generally means previous infection.
EBV antibody only suggests that nasopharyngeal cancer may be related to it, not that nasopharyngeal cancer is not under control. It is recommended to refer to other test results. If other test results are normal and there is no sign of recurrence, it means that the disease is under control, so there is no need to worry too much about the test result of EBV antibody. Regular checkups are sufficient.
