5mm lung nodules usually do not heal on their own. Lung nodules are nodular lesions with a diameter of less than 1cm in the lungs on imaging, and are mostly associated with lung infections, tumors, and inflammation. Most pulmonary nodules are benign, do not heal on their own and do not increase in size, are usually asymptomatic, and have no impact on quality of life or longevity. If the nodule is malignant, it may be an early stage cancer or precancerous lesion, and requires prompt medical attention. If they are caused by a pathogenic bacterial infection, they may heal over time. Lung nodules are categorized as solid nodules, partially solid benign nodules, and pure ground glass nodules. Lung nodules can be treated with close follow-up with chest CT, while malignant lung nodules require further biopsy to clarify the diagnosis, and surgical resection is considered if necessary. It is recommended that patients actively cooperate with the treatment under the guidance of the doctor and according to their individual conditions.
