Does a tetanus shot hurt?

There will be pain when you get a tetanus shot. If you suspect that your body is infected by the tetanus bacillus, you will need to come to the hospital to get a tetanus antitoxin shot, and you will need to do a skin test before you get the shot. The routine skin test is done on the inner side of the forearm, and the pain will be very noticeable because the skin test needle is injected into the skin. If the skin test is negative, tetanus antitoxin can be injected intramuscularly, which may also cause pain and discomfort. If the skin test is positive, a skin test-free tetanus immunoglobulin injection is also required. Tetanus infection is usually only possible if the wound is small and deep, and after being cut by a rusty nail or something dirty, so this should be done as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours, at the hospital for a tetanus shot.
