Knee pain after bracing is mainly due to the stiffness of the joints caused by prolonged bed rest and surgical immobilization of the patient after fracture surgery, which can be treated by conservative treatment and surgery.
1. Conservative treatment: mainly refers to physical therapy and rehabilitation training. Physiotherapy can choose hot compresses, red light, deep microwave, etc., the principle is to promote local blood circulation, accelerate swelling subside, relieve knee stiffness; rehabilitation training for the main means of postoperative recovery, the principle of rehabilitation is to advocate the patient as early as possible rehabilitation training, the earlier the postoperative rehabilitation training, the faster the functional recovery.
2. Surgery: If the patient’s knee stiffness has been very serious for more than 3 months, most of the patients will not be able to recover through self-exercise, and the space for recovery is limited, so joint adhesion release surgery is needed. However, functional training should still be performed after the surgery, because the surgery itself can cause secondary adhesion.
It should be noted that after the first surgery, if the patient does not see significant relief for a long time, he/she needs a second surgery to release the adhesion.
