Seven possible signs of the onset of rheumatoid arthritis

If some parts of the body often have symptoms such as pain and stiffness, be alert to the possible precursors of rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Walter Maksimvich, a consultant rheumatologist and professor of medicine at the University of Alberta in Canada, recently published an article on 7 signs of rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Maximovich recently published an article, pay attention to the 7 signs of rheumatoid arthritis. 1, shoulder and elbow pain and stiffness The shoulder is most susceptible to rheumatoid arthritis, symptoms often manifest in the upper arm pain at night, difficulty lifting the arm, arm stiffness, unable to shower and dress properly, daily activities are limited. Nodules may also appear at the joints of the elbow. 2, knee swelling and inflammation Inflammation of the knee joint leads to a significant increase in synovial fluid, which in turn leads to swelling and over time may lead to skeletal deformation such as knee valgus and knee inversion. 3. Dry and inflamed eyes About 1/4 of patients also suffer from dry eyes. Other possible eye problems include keratitis and sclerenitis, which cause redness and pain in the affected area. 4. Neck and jaw pain Rheumatoid arthritis can also cause discomfort in the cervical spine, as well as redness, swelling and pressure pain in the temporomandibular joint, which connects the lower part of the upper jaw. 5. Cardiopulmonary circulatory system problems 80% of patients experience fatigue due to anemia, as the amount of oxygen-carrying hemoglobin in the blood drops. Rheumatoid arthritis can also cause lung dysfunction, such as fibrosing alveolitis, caused by an affected alveolar wall in the lungs. Sometimes, the outer membrane of the heart is also affected by inflammation evolving into pericarditis; Raynaud’s disease may also occur, i.e. tingling and numbness in the hands triggered by narrowing of blood vessels and insufficient blood supply in cold weather. 6, hand and wrist swelling pain Rheumatoid arthritis will have a serious impact on the hands, resulting in hand joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and even deformity. Carpal tunnel syndrome may occur in the wrist, which means that pressure on the nerves in the wrist will cause numbness, pain and weakness in the hand. 7. Foot and ankle abnormalities The foot and ankle are also frequently affected parts, especially early symptoms may be reflected in the foot, where the feet may become wider, painful, or even difficult to walk.
