It is normal for an anal fistula to hang for 15 days without dropping the stitches. Normally, it takes about 7-18 days for an anal fistula hanging thread to drop the skin band.
Anal fistula hanging threads usually fall off the skin band in 7-10 days, but it is still important to assess the patient’s own condition and the location of the fistula. If the patient has relatively little tissue ligated within the hanging wire, the time for the skin band to come off will be shorter when the anal fistula is hung, and the skin band will usually come off within a week.
Conversely, if relatively more tissue is cut within the hanging thread and the fistula is positioned in the internal rectal opening, the time for the skin band to come off is prolonged, usually around 10-18 days.
If during the hanging line of anal fistula, the patient appears uncomfortable or hanging line slack, it is recommended to go to the local hospital anorectal department in time for examination, and timely adjustment, to promote the shedding of the hanging line of anal fistula, so that the treatment of anal fistula hanging line healing, and to achieve the purpose of postoperative return to normal.
