Cryosurgery is a process of rapid cooling and rewarming of local tissues by physical means under bronchoscopy in a short period of time, resulting in controlled destruction of molecules, cells, and even tissues. The procedure is often used in clinical respiratory departments for the treatment of benign and malignant airway diseases, such as endobronchial tuberculosis, with a high safety profile and no significant serious complications. For some malignant tumors, cryosurgery is relatively slow to take effect, but it can be a good adjunct in patients with severe airway stenosis when combined with chemotherapeutic agents.
