How often should you be reviewed after cataract surgery

After cataract surgery, patients usually need to be rechecked on the first day, one week, one month and three months, depending on their condition.
On the first day of surgery, the patient’s eye pressure, visual acuity, anterior chamber depth, corneal transparency, lens position, and fundus condition will be observed, which will help to evaluate the effect of the surgery and facilitate the doctor’s guidance on postoperative medication.
If there is no problem on the first day of postoperative examination, the patient will be asked to have a follow-up examination after one week, which is also mainly to observe whether the patient’s visual acuity is normal, how the size of the intraocular pressure is, the condition of the fundus of the eye, the transparency and position of the lens, as well as whether there are any infections, bleeding and other conditions.
Review may be needed one month or three months after the operation, which is to check the overall status of the patient’s eyes. At this time, it is necessary to focus on observing how the patient’s refractive status is, and if there is any refractive error, it is necessary to wear professional glasses in time to correct it. At the same time, the effect of medication can be assessed to determine whether the patient’s condition is such that the use of medication can be discontinued.
If the patient’s eyes become uncomfortable after the surgery, he/she needs to go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible, so as to avoid aggravation of the condition and affecting the patient’s vision.
