What is hormonal dermatitis

Hormonal dermatitis is the symptom of skin allergy triggered by the long-term use of hormones. Most of the symptoms do not appear immediately at the beginning of hormone use, and the symptoms will appear gradually with time. Current research suggests that after three weeks or more of normal hormone use, one can suffer from hormonal allergic symptoms, also known as hormonal allergic dermatitis. For hormonal atopic dermatitis to occur, the skin’s barrier is damaged and the skin’s stratum corneum is thinned. The treatment of hormone allergic dermatitis is mainly to reduce the strength and dosage of hormone drugs step by step. In addition, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic medications are used until the hormone medications are completely withdrawn. As the treatment process is longer, it may take 1-2 years, most patients are more difficult to accept. The current treatment for hormonal dermatitis is mainly localized protection of the skin, while strengthening the skin’s self-renewal.
