Moxibustion is gentle moxibustion in which the moxa stick is lit about 5cm to 10cm away from the selected acupuncture point so that the patient always feels warmth. There are two types of gentle moxibustion, one is bird pecking moxibustion, where the moxa stick is raised a little and then lowered, raised a little and lowered a little, like a little bird pecking. The other one is called gyratory moxibustion, which is a back-and-forth oscillation on the acupuncture point to make the patient feel the warmth. These two types of moxibustion methods have their own characteristics, so choose the right one according to the patient’s condition.
