What causes earwax to grow fast?

The medical name for earwax is cerumen, and cerumen fast is usually caused by a more vigorous metabolism, a dusty living environment, or acute or chronic otitis externa.
1. High metabolism: Cerumen is a greasy mixture secreted by ceruminous glands that is used to protect the external ear canal and adhere to foreign objects. When the metabolism in the body is too fast, the oil in the body will be quickly discharged from the cerumen glands, showing the phenomenon of fast growth of cerumen. It is recommended to clean the external auditory canal regularly to avoid the phenomenon of cerumen blockage.
2. Dusty living environment: As cerumen has the function of adhering to external objects, so when there is more dust in the patient’s living environment, due to the dust entering the external ear canal, the cerumen glands will continuously secrete cerumen to adhere to the dust, which will lead to the phenomenon of fast cerumen secretion. It is recommended to open the window regularly, clean the living environment in time, and do the appropriate treatment of dust in the environment such as splashing water and other adhesion.
3. Acute and chronic otitis externa: the over secretion of glands in the external auditory canal stimulated by various reasons or inflammatory reaction leading to abnormal metabolism of the epidermis, as well as the accumulation of infected necrotic tissues in the external auditory canal can be manifested as the symptom of more earwax.
Fast growing cerumen is not a good phenomenon, it is recommended to consult a doctor to clarify the factors that cause fast growing cerumen, and actively eliminate these factors.
