Are the consequences of bone marrow suppuration serious?

Bone marrow suppuration has serious consequences.
Bone marrow suppuration, i.e. septic osteomyelitis, is an infectious disease caused by bacterial invasion of bone tissue infection due to trauma or sepsis. Acute septic osteomyelitis is mainly manifested as generalized chills and high fever, local redness, swelling and heat pain. Chronic septic osteomyelitis is characterized by bone destruction.
If acute septic osteomyelitis is not treated in time or improperly treated, it will lead to the entry of bacteria into the bloodstream, causing sepsis and septicemia, which in turn will cause infections of other organs, such as pneumonia and renal insufficiency. If it progresses to chronicity, it can lead to pathologic fracture due to bone destruction.
When bone marrow sepsis occurs, timely medical treatment should be sought to achieve early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment to prevent the remaining dysfunction, deformity, amputation and other serious consequences.
