What to do about chest congestion, cough and asthma

If the chest tightness and chronic cough are more than two months old, and the heart examination is fine, and the chest X-ray is heavy with lung texture, then it is likely to be asthma, especially in patients with rhinitis, which needs to be confirmed by pulmonary function plus airway responsiveness measurement. According to my statistics, less than one tenth of the patients diagnosed with first-onset asthma from January to June this year were really wheezing, and the main manifestation was chronic cough with poor results of both Chinese and Western medicines, followed by chest tightness. Asthma can be triggered by colds or irritants and is characterized by high airway reactivity and extreme sensitivity to external stimuli, and treatment takes at least three months to cure or completely control. Recent studies show low control rates of only 2.9% in the Asia-Pacific region, 45% in the United States, and 7.6% in Africa. This is related to the lack of awareness, late diagnosis, poor patient compliance and insufficient management and education. The new instruments in our department have greatly improved the early diagnosis rate. With early diagnosis, standardized medication, regular doctors and regular review, control is actually very simple.
