Can you drink soy milk for liver cancer?

Whether patients with liver cancer can drink soymilk depends on their corresponding comorbidities. Except for patients with liver cancer combined with hepatic encephalopathy who are not suitable to drink soymilk, other liver cancer patients can drink soymilk. Liver cancer patients with cirrhosis will have decreased protein synthesis function and thus suffer from malnutrition. Soymilk is rich in protein, which can replenish protein for the body and is more suitable for liver cancer patients. However, if liver cancer patients have symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy, especially when blood ammonia is elevated, they need to avoid consuming high protein as much as possible, because high protein diet will easily aggravate hepatic encephalopathy, and it is not recommended to consume soymilk in this case. Each patient’s condition is different, so it is recommended to consult the doctor’s professional opinion before consuming soymilk so as not to affect the treatment.
