How to use moxa pillars

The use of moxa cones can be categorized into direct moxibustion, such as scarification moxibustion, and indirect moxibustion, such as spaced ginger moxibustion. 1. Direct moxibustion: i.e., moxa cones are placed directly on the area of application. Scar moxibustion means that the moxa cones placed in the area of the acupuncture point should be completely burned out in order to form a moxibustion sore. To prevent infection, sterilization is required before moxibustion. Non-scarring moxibustion means that the moxa cones placed on the acupuncture point area must not be completely burned out to appear red on the skin. 2. Indirect moxibustion: i.e. placing objects between the moxa cones and the skin to increase the therapeutic effect. For example, ginger moxibustion, garlic moxibustion, salt moxibustion. The amount of moxibustion needs to be determined according to the different treatment modalities. Patients who need moxibustion treatment, need to go to the hospital to receive regular treatment to ensure their own safety.
