How long does a laryngeal air cyst last?

A laryngeal gas cyst is an abnormal dilatation of the small sacs of the laryngeal chambers, which usually does not affect life expectancy when treated promptly.
Laryngeal gas cysts, also known as laryngeal bulge and laryngeal pneumatic hernia, are abnormal dilatation of the small sacs of the laryngeal ventricles and contain gas. In infants, it is mostly congenital, and in adults, it is mostly related to congenital abnormality of the laryngeal sacs and laryngeal tumors. It is categorized into three types: extralaryngeal type, intralaryngeal type and mixed type.
The treatment is mainly surgical resection, this disease is benign lesions, generally after active standardized treatment, the prognosis is relatively good, generally will not affect the patient’s life expectancy.
If there are symptoms such as change of voice, dysphonia, gas before speaking, or a round raised swelling in the neck, laryngotracheal cysts should be highly suspected, and it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible to standardize the treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition with other complications.
