Neurogenic bladder is often accompanied by physical or consciousness disorders, for example, patients with spinal cord injury often have difficulty urinating, urinary incontinence, and it is common to see patients with a cling bag tied outside, resulting in a fissured penis, or in severe cases, a deformed penis. This is because urinary incontinence is often accompanied by a urinary rash in the perineum. If decubitus ulcers form, they can lead to years of non-healing. With treatment, the patient’s quality of life improves significantly if the incontinence is controlled. I have also seen patients with spinal cord injuries who feel that they can “get by” by percussing, squeezing, squatting, etc., and feel that they can excrete some of their urine. Unknowingly, there is a double hydronephrosis, renal insufficiency, and finally had to undergo dialysis treatment. Other patients live with fever, sometimes several times a month. These are the complications caused by neurogenic bladder and patients have to deal with doctors for a long time because of urinary tract infections, bladder stones, ureteral stones, kidney stones, kidney infections, hydronephrosis, and urinary incontinence until they finally undergo dialysis treatment.
