The cause of lymphoid follicular hyperplasia in the terminal ileum may be physiological, or pathological due to inflammation, or tumor. Physiological factors do not require treatment, while pathologic factors are treated symptomatically and causally. 1. Physiological factors: mostly seen in adolescents, due to the relatively developed lymphatic system at the end of the ileum, which can promote digestion and absorption. If it is not accompanied by abdominal discomfort, no treatment is needed. 2. Inflammation: Inflammation at the end of the ileum will lead to proliferation of local lymphocytes and lymphoid follicle hyperplasia, which is the self-protection mechanism of the human body. Often accompanied by abdominal pain, abdominal distension and other symptoms, need to take antibiotic treatment, such as cephalosporins, penicillins or metronidazole drugs. 3. Tumor of ileocecal end: abdominal tumor, which metastasizes to ileocecal end through lymphatic vessels, will stimulate lymphatic follicle hyperplasia in ileocecal end. Diagnosed as metastatic tumor, surgical treatment and radiotherapy should be carried out. In the above cases, it is suggested that patients should go to the hospital in time to get a clear diagnosis and follow the doctor’s instruction to give reasonable and standardized medication and related treatments under the guidance of professional doctors.
