What’s wrong with itchy ear wax?

More ear wax in the external ear canal, accompanied by itching, is generally considered to be caused by chronic external ear canal eczema. The etiology of external ear canal eczema is generally directly related to allergic reactions, mental factors (nervousness), endocrine disorders, metabolic disorders, and indigestion. Fish, shrimp, milk, parasites, and focal infections are also possible, and a humid and hot environment may also be a trigger. On examination, thickened, rough, cracked epidermis, mossy, flaky, pigmented skin of the external ear canal is seen, and the patient feels itchy in the ear. If severe, it is accompanied by ear pain, often in recurrent acute attacks. In terms of treatment, the itching can be stopped in about five days by first using Eloson ointment and rubbing it locally twice a day. Patients also need to eat a light diet, not to eat spicy stimuli, and not to repeatedly pull out their ears in order to gradually heal.
