Vocal nodules can be diagnosed from medical history, clinical manifestations and laryngoscopy. 1. History: Vocal nodules are mainly caused by improper or excessive use of voice, with a higher incidence in adult females, and are more common in professions such as teachers, conductors, and actors. 2. Clinical manifestations: hoarseness is the earliest and most important symptom, and there can also be changes in voice range, fatigue, sore throat and other manifestations. 3. Laryngoscopy: limited mucosal swelling or nodular protrusion at the junction of the anterior and middle 1/3 of the free edge of the vocal folds can be seen, with bilateral symmetry. Vocal fold nodules are often associated with vocal abuse, so correcting bad pronunciation and strengthening voice health care are the first choices. Surgery can be performed when the lesion affects daily life.
